Palm Acid Oil
Palm acid oil (PAO) is a by-product obtained from the refining of palm oil. Palm Acid Oil specifications contain mainly of Free Fatty Acid (FFA) up to 50% and neutral oil, with 2-3% moisture and other impurities. It is similar to palm fatty acid distillate but its FFA is generally lower.
Palm Oil Mill Effluent
Palm oil mill effluent (POME) is high strength wastewater derived from processing of palm fruit. It is generated in large quantities in all oil palm producing nations where it is a strong pollutant amenable to microbial degradation being rich in organic carbon, nitrogen, and minerals.
Palm Kernel Shell
Palm kernel shell is a by-product in the production of palm oil and is commonly used in the natural biomass energy industry. Palm kernel shells (or PKS) are the shell fractions left after the nut has been removed after crushing in the Palm Oil mill. It is a fibrous material, brownish-yellow in colour and can be easily handled in bulk directly from the product line to the end use. Due to its high calorific value, averaging 4000 Kcal/kg, and low ash content, it is considered an attractive source of fuel in the production of energy from renewable sources.
